    Unhappy Microsoft Office Photo Editor

This was a great, simple, easy to use, photo adjustment editor. It could do things in batches and was simple enough for non-tech-types to understand.

It appears to be gone. Is there a way to get it back or something that has the two big features I listed in the second sentence?

Are you sure its gone? Did you look at:
Start Icon > Microsoft Office > Microsoft Office Picture Manager

    This is for Office 2007

Yes, it exists in Office 2007. It does not exist in the more recent versions.

Do you still have the installation disks for the older version of Office? If so, then here's how you get it back; https://support.office.com/en-us/art...ad=US&fromAR=1

Excellent reply. Just to confirm, here's Microsoft Photo Editor installed from MS Office XP and running in Windows 10 Creators Update:

    Hope this helps...

I have Office 2013 and putting picture editor in the Help box brings up Editing photos without Picture Manager. I Inserted an image in a blank document, clicked it to Select and got added information/icons on the Toolbar as shown on the first item in the list found by Search.

    Editing photos without Picture Manager
Use the free Windows Live Photo Gallery app to edit photos--or edit your photos with the built-in picture tools in Word.

All right, what was the photo editor that came as a separate application in Office 2000? I thought that had been dropped and was gone forever.

Edited to add: I have looked it up and can answer my own question.

Microsoft PhotoDraw and the subsequent PhotoDraw 2 was the application I was thinking of, and that was part of Office 2000. It included vector graphics and might have competed with CorelDraw or Adobe products, but for the fact that it was outclassed because of them.

Subsequent to that there was Microsoft Picture It! Publishing (in Works Suite 2001 in my case), and that was a fun thing for photographers because you could put your own formatted text on a photograph, making postcards or advertisements or that sort of thing. White text on a photo background often looks good.

Those were prior to Office XP, which is discussed in the thread. I still have installation CDs for all, but just a limited-time trial for PhotoDraw 2.
