Collaborate on a holiday photo album with ease

    By Lincoln Spector

Holiday gatherings mean lots of snapshots; and when the party's over, the good feelings continue though shared photos. Here's how to create a collaborative album made up of everyone's favorites.

In this article, I'll tell you how to create a quick and simple photo album in Dropbox, Facebook, Google Photos, and OneDrive. Then I'll explain how to allow selected collaborators to add their own photos to the mix.

The full text of this column is posted at windowssecrets.com/digital-entertainment/collaborate-on-a-holiday-photo-album-with-ease/ (opens in a new window/tab).

Columnists typically cannot reply to comments here, but do incorporate the best tips into future columns.

One useful addition to the Google Photos system is the auto uploader (useful if you have a bunch of photos stored on your PC or server).

Take a look at the URL below for more information:

It would seem that my 31,000 photos will take about 36 hours to upload. It's been running about 24 hours now and has 12.7K left to upload. My photos are stored on a NAS box (ASUSTOR AS6204T). Now and again, a small number of photos cannot be uploaded (around a 100 so far). The Google help page gives several reasons why (file too large etc). There are options to ignore, retry etc. I did not investigate this further. For me, this was an easy way to be able to show photos on my phone.

See https://support.google.com/photos/an...abdesktop&rd=1 for the help on why pictures cannot be uploaded.

Our family has had great success with the "PhotoCircle" app.
