Turbotax question - any users here?

Before I go in to a lot of detail about my Turbotax software issue (not a tax question), I thought I should see if anyone here uses it.

PLease let me know if you do, and I'll provide details.

    Thanks,
    Dick Y

Thank you both for your responses. For some reason I didn't get any emails telling me of your responses.

In the meantime, Google was my friend, and I was able to reslove my issue.

As I tried to do that at first, I was amazed and disappointed to find that Turbotax has no tech-support avenues for non-tax kinds of issues with their software.

We used Turbo Tax Online for our federal and state taxes. Both were free, for some reason. No problem whatsoever, that I am aware of. Already got both refunds.

Glad you got your issue resolved.

When I did, it sent me to a customer-support oriented forum. There you could ask a question and see what others had answered.

When I went there, it asked for a few more details and had a "get phone number button" at the bottom of the page.

Just asking, did you read the fine print? I have not but am always leery of putting my info online. $ 50 has always seemed a good deal but of course one never knows how much info Intuit really collects...

I agree, David. But the fact that we were able to get our federal and state taxes done and submitted quickly, thereby avoiding the huge headache I get every year at tax time, greatly outweighed my privacy concerns.

With Turbo Tax Online, I have a short-term headache and a little bit of anxiety. When doing my state and federal taxes on paper, I have a long-term headache and full-blown anxiety attacks.

With an install of Turbo Tax (or Tax Cut or what have you) you have one less small headache and likely a very similar experience (unless of course the help system is better on one or the other, I have NOT been favorably impressed by that part on TT lately it has mostly moved to crowd sourcing if I am seeing it correctly).
I am wondering if next year with the changes coming one form of tax s/w will outpace the others. It almost makes me wish I was still working and would be getting a nice tax break!
