problem with hotmail
hello everyone;
i will appreciate from the moderator a notification if this thread doesn't belong here. tia.
mi sister has a problem with hotmail which i've not been able to solve.
from her desktop [LAN cable connected to the near wi-fi modem router], she can open [log in & out] her hotmail [outlook] email site online without any problem.
however, when trying to access SAME account [same ID, same password], from [wi-fi] liked tablet ot laptop, the request id denied and an NEW PASSWORD is asked [we confirm she' log out at the desktop].
is it there [maybe something elementary], i'm missing, or should know?
haven't seen in settings any provision to deal with this scenario.
any help / suggestion / correction will be kindly appreciated.

Is the wifi the same unit as the desktop is connected to?
Have you checked that the URL is the same for both machines?
What reason does the site give for requesting a new password? Is it your browser auto-filling something?
cheers, Paul

I apologize for the delay and reporting to forum about visit to sister machine.
busy w/ other priorities.
what it follows is explanation of pics attached:
a: screen that comes when clicking on icon at laptop. this is the same icon as in desktop, same outcome.
b: her id to sign in
c: request for password.
d: password entered
e: BOUNCING NOTIFICATION message.
pls notice that both machines use google chrome.
also please compare URLs.
to ENSURE that she was NOT REMAINING signed on desktop, i went to the corresponding setting to SIGN OUT, and the desktop was turned OFF before the attempt in laptop which got the pics explained

That screen is just telling you the login in wrong. I suspect you have some wrong characters in the password.
Open Notepad.
Type the password.
Copy it.
Paste it into the mail login screen.
cheers, Paul

1) I assume she is typing the password, not relying on something stored in chrome? If not, try typing it (in both desktop and laptop).
2) Is it possible the desktop & laptop/tablet are using different keyboard layouts?

this is what i did, AND DIDN'T WORK:
copied password in PC before logging in.
pasted into an open notepad.
saved the txt file as pssw.txt into a plugged USB.
logged out of Hotmail / Outlook in PC & turned it OFF.
plugged USB in laptop.
copied password from notepad [in USB] when trying to sign in.
NO luck.

On the laptop, have you tried clearing Chrome's cache and cookies?

I'd suggest trying to get clues by trying to connect with some more devices. ie with your computer, or try to login with your phone (using its browser, not an app, to stay consistent).

Get her to load TeamViewer (free for personal use) so you can try these things without visiting.
cheers, Paul
