Hot link between PPT and Excel

Making a class involving Powerpoint 2016 and Excel 2016. Would like a link in PPT slide to click to an Excel file.
Then a keystroke combination to go back to the PPT file.
Any suggestion of how to accomplish this. I want the student to be able to go back and forth between the Powerpoint and an Excel file.
Later in the PPT would be other links to additional Excel files.
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Richard,

Place a shape on your slide then right click it and select Hyperlink.

You can switch back to PowerPoint by click on the PP Ion on the task bar or Closing the Excel file.
If you use the PP Icon the Excel file stays open and clicking on the shape will switch you back.
If you close the Excel file clicking the shape will reopen it.

You'll also want to place your Excel directory in the Trust center as a Trusted Location if the Excel file contain macros.

You can also place a Before Close macro in the Excel workbooks to get around the prompt to save the file if you don't want the students changing them.
