    Edge Fast but still a disappointment

    Edge Fast but still a disappointment. I find myself using Edge more and more due to Palemoon with NoScript failing to load websites so often, for whatever reason. It is several years old now and stil a toddler. No mouse enabled full screen mode? COME ON NOW MS what the flufffff ?? Virtually no customizability (is not that a real word??)

    And how do you search the 'extensions' ? When I search I get a search of all the 'apps'. Of course there are not that many extensions so the problem is minimized.

    I would love to find a workable substitute for NoScript, both for Edge and Palemoon, but that does not seem to exist. Only JavaScript blockers w/o the other various safe guards that NS has.

    When I set up new PCs for users, Edge is always there, so I have begun to use it. I have found that it is fast, and therefore a pleasure to use.

    This is not the same as using Edge for day-to-day usage. But when you are doing user support, you need to have various tools available that get the job done for you. Edge is good for this type of situation.

    You can switch to full screen mode via mouse with two quick clicks:

    Settings and more (…), then the Full screen arrows icon four lines immediately below that (after Zoom -/+).

    And you can then exit full screen mode by hovering near top right and toggling it off with one click on the Full screen arrows icon:

    Enabling and Disabling Full Screen Mode in Microsoft Edge (Method 3 of 4)

    (Perhaps tomorrow, on 1809, you may be able to use a new "Show in toolbar" menu to make full screen available with one click, but I'm not certain.)

    I have found that there are several things in Windows 10 that work as desired, but there is a different way to access them in Windows 10 than in previous versions of Windows.

    Does that mean that you're complaining about what Edge can't do, but you haven't yet updated to version 1709 from a year ago?

    Did you know with the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, you can now browse full screen in Microsoft Edge?

    @Bruce

    AFAIK, unfortunately there is no way for user controlled entries in "Show in Toolbar".

    Probably: Win10 version 1809 'RTM,' build 17763, now expected to drop Oct. 2

    (But no "Fall" in the name this year: Windows 10 version 1809 is officially called the October 2018 Update)

    Switching to Linux won't help you much with your browser. Other than the Microsoft browsers, you can pretty much use all browsers in Linux or in Windows.

    Not that I have anything against Linux. I made the move to Linux Mint, and I'm never going back.
