Windows 95 App; 95, 98 + others in your browser

Well dang, Minesweeper beat me again!

copy.sh has 15 old OSs you can launch in your browser. I fired up 95 & 98 for a minute and they worked fine.

Old DOS, Linux and others too.

Felix Rieseberg takes this a step further with a downloadable app of Win95 on Github. Runs on Windows, Mac & Linux. I haven't tried this.

Me too. Twice. But so did the simulation. I just lost the mouse and couldn't do anything, even with the keyboard. Fortunately ctrl-alt-delete helped - I clicked on task manager and got the mouse back, so closed the window. What did I do wrong?
What do you mean nothing is impossible? I've been doing nothing for years.

Maybe nothing. My first effort in the OP was with Opera browser, all smooth.

Just tried now in IE 11 and Win98 wouldn't load.

Then tried Edge, and it loaded, but the action was a lot worse than Opera—things reacted slower, and the virtual cursor was flaky following my real cursor around. Took me a while to get it onto the Start button.

Around then, I got a popup asking if I wanted to switch off my real cursor. I clicked Yes, which made the virtual cursor more responsive. Still not as smooth as Opera, but okay—and I beat Minesweeper this time

I had to Ctrl-Alt-Del also to get my real pointer back.

So I guess which browser you use will make quite a difference. Chrome might go well, since it's mostly the same engine as Opera. Don't know re Firefox.
