Search for specific word in document from outside documents

I wrote a document in the past. I donít remember the year. Now I need to find that document. I know some specific words in that document.

    Iím using Windows 10.

Iím at the desktop. Step by step, what do I do to search for a specific word in hundreds of DOC and DOCX files

I tried all of those answers and none of them worked.

I have now spent more time of trying to find tose files than it would take to rewrite them

In the search box in Explorer type this: *.doc* content:word
Replaced "word" with the word to search for.

    cheers, Paul

@BobWallToo, Paul's recommendation works: I just tried it on my computer.

I clicked into the Type here to search box, but didn't type anything in yet: (maybe it doesn't matter, I don't know)
--- I selected Documents in the choices to search
--- Since I use Word 2016, I typed *.docx* content:free space into the Type here to search box.
--- All my documents that included "free space" showed up.
